3月30日，清康MBA創(chuàng)新發(fā)展論壇在北京隆重舉辦。此次論壇匯聚了清華大學五道口金融學院與康奈爾大學約翰遜管理學院的領(lǐng)導、嘉賓、校友及學生等近200人親臨現(xiàn)場。同時，通過清華大學、清華五道口、清華五道口MBA等十余個網(wǎng)絡(luò)平臺進行直播，吸引了超過231萬人次的熱烈關(guān)注與觀看，彰顯了論壇非凡的影響力與廣泛的關(guān)注度。

Good afternoon, esteemed colleagues, faculty, students, and distinguished guests. It is an honor to be here at Tsinghua PBC School of Finance, our strong partner and one of the most prestigious institutions shaping financial leadership in China and beyond.

I want to express my sincere gratitude to Dean Jie Jiao, the faculty members, and the event organizers for their efforts in bringing together this Cornell-Tsinghua MBA Innovation and Development Forum. I also wish to recognize my colleagues, Professor Alex Susskind, Professor Eric Yeung, and Professor Peng Liu, who are with me here to participate. I am so excited to be here, to listen, and to contribute to this important and timely discussion in our business and academic leadership.

Our collaboration in the Cornell-Tsinghua Dual Degree Finance MBA program, established in 2015, is now ten years old. This collaboration has truly flourished into a dynamic, world-class educational initiative and a testament to the academic leadership and vision of the faculties in PBCSF and Cornell’s Johnson School. I am proud to note that our students are phenomenally talented and our alumni are making their mark in global business leadership. Over the past ten years, we have cultivated a truly global network of 1,019 students and alumni, spanning across industries, countries, and leadership roles.

We have created a community of forward-thinking leaders who are shaping global financial markets in key industries. Today, we stand at an important moment in this journey—celebrating the past decade and preparing for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

The Evolution of Finance in the Age of AI

The financial landscape is undergoing unprecedented transformation, fueled by the rapid advancements in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning and data science, blockchain & cryptomarkets, and big data.

AI-powered algorithms are reshaping everything—from portfolio management and risk assessment to fraud detection and customer engagement. Financial institutions are investing heavily in predictive analytics to anticipate market trends, while fintech companies leverage AI to improve lending, wealth management, and digital banking.

However, as we embrace these advancements, we must also recognize two kinds of challenges:

· the societal challenges and responsibilities that come with them. Ethical AI governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance are critical issues that demand attention. Algorithmic bias, data privacy concerns, and the risk of automation displacing traditional roles in finance are realities we must proactively address.

· And managerial challenges.

The role of business education, therefore, is to equip future leaders not just with technical skills, but also with ethical decision-making frameworks and tools to ensure AI serves society in a responsible and impactful way.

Cornell’s Role in AI and Finance

At Cornell’s Johnson School, we are making large investments to integrating AI and data-driven decision-making into finance education.

· Faculty

· AI Curriculum – all areas

· Academic-industry partnership

Personal: Digital Technology Immersion, Master of Science in Business Analytics program, research.

We need to do more – disruptive, not incremental.

From a research perspective, I have personally explored the applications of AI and machine learning in supply chain management and retail analytics. One of my key research areas is using blockchain technology to improve supply chain transparency, ensuring authenticity in trade networks and reducing fraud risks.

These innovations are not just theoretical concepts—they are actively reshaping industries. For instance, blockchain is being implemented to streamline cross-border payments, AI is revolutionizing algorithmic trading, and big data is enhancing credit risk assessments in emerging markets.

For our Cornell-Tsinghua MBA community, these developments represent opportunities for leadership and innovation. We need professionals who can bridge finance, technology, and policy to drive meaningful change.

A Global Perspective: The Power of Collaboration

One of the defining strengths of the Cornell-Tsinghua partnership is our ability to connect global talent and ideas.

Our 1,019 students and alumni are changemakers shaping the future of financial markets, leading banks, investment firms, fintech startups, and multinational corporations. They bring a cross-border mindset, blending insights from both Eastern and Western economic models.

Over the years, we have seen inspiring success stories:

1）Alumni who have taken leadership roles in AI-driven hedge funds and digital banking.

2）Entrepreneurs who have built fintech companies that drive financial inclusion in underserved markets.

3）Professionals working at the intersection of technology, sustainability, and financial services, creating ESG-focused investment solutions.

These stories reinforce the vision of our strong collaboration. The future of finance is changing and our alumni are leading this change because of this program, and because they are so interconnected. The knowledge we develop through our academic and industry partnerships will define how we tackle global financial challenges.

Looking Ahead: The Next Decade of Our Partnership building on the foundation

As we celebrate ten years of this dual-degree program, I am incredibly excited about the next chapter of our journey. There is a lot to be done to build on our successes and this foundation and to create the next phase of impact on business and economies.

This is a defining moment for our Cornell-Tsinghua FMBA program. The expertise we cultivate today will shape the future of finance, entrepreneurship, and technological leadership for years to come.

To our students and future leaders, I encourage you to

- embrace new industries and be at the edge of the change. AI-driven insights while maintaining human-centered decision-making；Push the boundaries of financial innovation but do so responsibly；Leverage this powerful Cornell-Tsinghua network—a network that will support you throughout your career.
